Custom objectThe new "custom object" feature is available together with the 3D modeller of VELUX Daylight Visualizer. It can be used to represent rectangular objects of any size, and can be combined to create more elaborated shapes.
The "custom object" is especially useful to represent different levels of external obstruction outside the building or room simulated.

External obstruction is an important parameter to take into account when performing daylighting analysis. The example below shows the daylight factor results obtained for the same house design, with and without the inclusion of external obstruction in the model used for analysis.

Export to EIC VisualizerA new function permitting to export models created in the VELUX Daylight Visualizer 3D modeller to EIC Visualizer (
http://eic.velux.com) has been implemented in preparation of the new EIC Visualizer 2.0 program release.

About
VELUX Daylight Visualizer is a simple tool for daylighting design and analysis. It is intended to promote the use of daylight in buildings and to aid professionals by predicting and documenting daylight levels and appearance of a space prior to realization of the building design.
The Daylight Visualizer intuitive modeling tool permits the quick generation of 3D models in which roof and facade windows are freely inserted. The program also permits users to import 3D models generated by CAD programs in order to facilitate a good workflow and provide flexibility to the model geometry.
Other features include predefined settings, a surface editor, site specifications, flexible view settings as well as multiple daylight parametrics providing accurate predictions.
